Parathormone's function is to regulate the calcium in the blood. To regulate calcium, it goes to the bone and takes it away from there in order to maintain the proper levels in the body.
By doing this, however, it decreases the density in bones which can lead to osteoporosis and make you more susceptible to fractures.
